Maulana Tariq Jameel bayan and best best DUA Roshni Ka Safar 27 july 2014

Islamic teachings: As opposed to the general misconception, Islam is a religion of supreme peace and security. Tariq Jameel's lectures incorporate a wide range of issues of Islam and social concern. He especially emphasizes on self-purification, avoidance of violent ways, observance of ALLAH orders and to follow Hazrat Muhammad (S.a.w.w)'sunnah. He repeatedly asks Muslims to do tawba (to be penitent for past sins and to retreat from wrong ways of life-leading) and to come back to the right path leaving the wrong one. He is a staunch critic of moral degeneration, indecent practices and shamelessness that have established its stronghold among young generation of Muslims.

Bringing Back the Light

Bringing Back the Light - Restoring the Life to Canada's Temperate Rainforests This film explores the practice, the methods and the need for habitat restoration in British Columbia's temperate rainforests. At Central Westcoast Forest Society, we see a clear connection between healthy landscapes and healthy communities. Our coast is one of the most beautiful places in the world, but decades of destructive logging, mining, and development practices have left vast expanses of our temperate rainforest in need of a helping hand. Many wildlife species have become endangered and wild salmon runs that once teemed with life are struggling to survive. Our job is to get the hard work done, and to get it done now.

XST

This is a portrait of Shawn Theodore, a street photographer in Philadelphia. Backstory: Early last year I stumbled upon an Instagram account named XST. A collection of powerful, vibrant photos of Philadelphia's population sprinkled his account, immediately captivating me. As I quietly admired his work, the mystery of both the man posting them and his methods of creation toyed with my imagination. By late fall, my curiosity piqued, and so I stepped outside my comfort circle and reached out to him. I flew across the country and was received by one of the kindest, warmest humans I've ever met. Shawn Theodore, a creative director by day and moonlighting street photographer, showed me around the city and let me ride co-pilot as he went about his fantastic passion of photographing the wild colors and people of one of America's oldest working-class cities.

When a Lake Turns to Desert

his spring the freshmen traveled to the Mojave National Preserve in California to study this fragile ecosystem, to witness the degradation people are causing and to discuss the politics associated with the formation of the preserve in 1994. The impact of past and future climate change is also written in the desert for the students to read. At the peak of the last Ice Age, 18,000 years ago, many of the desert playa, or dry lake beds, were full of water and home to fish and shellfish. The water vanished a few thousand years ago when shifts in Earth’s orbit changed wind systems and rainfall. Today the Mojave National Preserve is the driest place in North America.

Geology of Shoes

Geology of Shoes film is a result of collaboration between film director Petr Krejci and footwear designer Barbora Vesela. The design concept draws inspiration from geological processes such as sediment layers and effects of their erosion in nature. Barbora experimented with creative possibilities of discarded unwanted leather scraps and noted the potential of this overlooked resource. Her investigation resulted in creating new innovative process whilst holding on to traditional craft and celebrating some of the oldest techniques in shoemaking. Multiple layers of leather scrap pieces are added on to a last and subsequently sanded down to allow unique colour and textural pattern to emerge with striking effect. Colour scheme is borrowed from old geological maps where different colour represent different geological strata. Geology of Shoes film has been loved and shared by astonishing number of people and media channels globally since it’s publication in 2013.
